I had a nasty fall during an expo while riding a young horse. Landed on my back and smacked my head. Didn't think anything of it at the time. A few days later I was getting rather bad headaches so I went in to the doctor. Turns out I had a mild concussion and was experiencing post-concussion syndrome. The doctor said headaches and dizziness are common and can last up to three months. He asked if I had been wearing a helmet during my fall, I said I was. He told me it was a good thing I was, as my concussion and head injury would have been much more severe had I not been wearing a helmet. The good news, my IRH helped keep me safe! I'll be replacing my helmet with another IRH, love the look and fit of these helmets - nothing else is as good! Thank you for making such an excellent helmet! I'm a firm believer in wearing a helmet EVERY ride. I'm a professional rider, but that doesn't stop me from being safe - until horses stop "being horses" I will continue to wear my IRH helmet.

I am a neurosurgeon and neurologist and am pleased and delighted to be able to. provide a personal "testimonial" to the value of your approved riding helmets. My six year old Thoroughbred spooked at the wind, bucking me off. I have virtually no recollection of the accident, having struck my head and lost consciousness. I have both antegrade and retrograde amnesia for events lasting approximately one hour on that date. Fortunately the GATT scan of my brain was normal and I am on the road to a full recovery. I certainly have more empathy now with my patients who have suffered concussions! I am sure that your approved helmet protected me and prevented a much worse injury

This letter is to thank your company for producing such high quality helmets, that have saved my life. I was invited to an International showjumping competition in Quito- Ecuador to compete in March -25th 2006, and being a showjumping competition with borrowed horses, I was unfortunately given an inexperienced mare for the course. She had a short stride and limited scope, but I could not let the owners, or organizers of this competition down, as they trusted my expertise as an international showjurnper.
In a 4 stride line to a 1.20 parallel jump the mare jumped too much from behind and was caught with her front legs in the second element, somersaulting, dismounting me and falling on my leg. After her fall she kicked back to hit me in the front of my head and made me fall backwards leaving me almost unconscious. When I took off my IRH helmet it was impeccable from the outside except for the scratch of the hoof, but I saw that it was shattered inside in the front, but the people that lifted me from the ground where all amazed that I could stand up and walk after the blow. That night after the hospital, I attended the reception the organizers of the competition had made for me. It was my 63rd birthday and I was able to celebrate that year!

My name is Melanie Knobel and I was recently in a major horse accident. Luckily, I was wearing one of your helmets, and later found out it saved my life! I did end up with a grade three concussion with amnesia along with a broken collar bone and some gnarly bruises, but the doctors said I would have been lucky to get off with severe brain damage if it was not wearing a helmet.
